I had a great time in Belgrade 🇷🇸 while teaching the course “Strength Training for Individual and Team Sports”. Thank you @mica_teg for the invitation and for being such a great host, as well as for giving me the opportunity to meet such great people and city. Looking forward to the next opportunity to come back! Most commercial VBT devices provide several metrics, being average/peak velocity and average/peak power output the most widely utilised metrics by practitioners and athletes. Without going in further details about when to use one or the other, or even both, we normally assume that greater velocity or power output means stronger and more powerful athletes. just enjoying the process. ECCENTRIC TRAINING: ARE YOU ECCENTRIC ENOUGH? Creating an effective training program is a blend of science and art. Every athlete has their own idiosyncrasies, hence one size fits all programs more often than not do not achieve the desired outcome. Being fast is much more than simply having great times on a 40m or 10m fly sprint. Speed is context and sport specific - that’s what is normally defined as GAME SPEED.
